I have a harddrive for basically backing up data, which is unplugged most of the time. So i don't really want to have Everything re-indexing its database, whenever i have that backup disk connected.
Under NTFS there are two options, "Automatically include new removable drives" (which i have unchecked now), and "Automatically remove offline drives". Do i have to leave both of these options unchecked, or maybe i can index both disks, and only use the second option? I'm not sure which combination is the best. My main goal is to prevent re-indexing whenever i connect the backup disk. But maybe i can index both and just use that second option, depending on what exactly "remove" means in this context.
Best option for removable volumes?
Re: Best option for removable volumes?
For the most control, uncheck Automatically include new removable drives and uncheck Automatically remove offline drives.
Manually set which volumes are indexed by checking Include in database for each volume.
