I was having an issue where everything search was not showing all of the files for the indexed folders. So I did the index rebuild and because the folders are huge it took overnight to finish scanning. In the morning everything looked good and the files were again available. So I ran the command to close the logging terminal and closed Everything and opened it again. Unfortunately to my surprise all of the files were gone again and the software at the bottom said that it was scanning again, so it appears that it is restarting the process again. I have only started having this issue recently
How can I ensure that all of the files from the scanning process are saved properly and I dont need to rescan each day?
I have attached the screenshots of my current settings below
Everything not saving rescan info
Re: Everything not saving rescan info
Your settings look fine.
It sounds like this terminated Everything.
Everything stores it's database in memory.
The database is saved to disk when you exit Everything (File -> Exit), shutdown Windows or logoff.

Re: Everything not saving rescan info
Yes, I ran the /debug=0 command and closed the Everything window.Could you please expand on what you did here.

After that when I reopened it, it started scanning files again and where there is usually a list of all the files in Everything, none are shown.
It has been stuck on scanning now for a few hours and no files are shown in the Everything window.
I looked in C:\Windows\Temp for the logs and could not find Everything Service Debug Log.txt
Just also want to say - I really appreciate the awesome product and the help you guys give here
Re: Everything not saving rescan info
The scan has finished (I removed one of the slower network drives from the folders so I can get the main ones scanned in a few hours instead of overnight), which now shows 2,922,084 objects in the Everything Window. I am scared that when I close it I will lose this scan. Is there a way to backup the scan results in case they get lost again when I close and open Everything again.
Re: Everything not saving rescan info
Avoid closing the Everything Debug Console.
That will terminate Everything.
To close the debug console:
(File -> Exit).
That will terminate Everything.
To close the debug console:
- In Everything, type in the following search and press ENTER:
/debug
(File -> Exit).
