Everything 1.5 Alpha cannot search in full text docx\excelx,

Post by abb »

You cannot search docx and xlsx in full text, but you can search doc and xlsx in full text. There are no errors in the software settings. What should I do?
My system is win10 ltsc , but on another computer, I can search docx and xlsx in full text normally. thinks

On you ltsc, does Windows Explorer see full text in docx, xlsx?
(I'll assume you have "Office" installed on ltsc as that or some other "filter" may be needed ?)

Everything uses the system docx/xlsx iFilter to search content.

Microsoft Office will install a docx/xlsx iFilter.

iFilters do not like running as administrator.
Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.

x64 iFilters will likely not work with Everything x86.
Please make sure you are using the x64 version of Everything (Help -> About Everything -> Version)
