I'm just asking. Not sure, what it ususally was. But i get the same going back one version. And i have no issues as it comes to performance.

Hi,

For me, such a value is not unusual.

Code: Select all

Name/Ext Size Date
Everything.db 1 884 104 551	17.06.2025

Code: Select all

RAM installed: 32.0 GB (21.0 GB physical memory usable)
RAM consumption:    Approximately 2 Gigabyte (GB)
RAM consumption: Approximately 32 %
The decisive factors for me are “Properties” and “Content” indexing.
I'll keep an eye on it.

Hint:
The RAM consumption should NOT exceed 50% of the available memory (© void)

Ok, thanks, so it might be normal. I have quite some properties indexed, a dozen to be precise, but i wasn't paying attention to how ET normally uses. I recently experienced a high RAM usage of over 90% RAM, so i started investigating a bit what may be the cause. Anyway, i'm having a new computer in a couple of days, doubling my RAM, so it shouldn't matter anyway.

Tools -> Debug -> Statistics can break down the memory usage a little..

File data size includes filenames, properties and content.

Roughly, 1million files = 100MB RAM usage.
(not including properties or content)

Thanks void. No, ETs performance is flawless, don't need any throttling right now. I just never really paid attention to the RAM usage and was curious about the average size. And at the moment it's only about 250 MB. In the afternoon i had a situation where i noticed a high RAM usage also for Directory Opus, so i wondered if there was some connection. The statistics page is also very interesting, although quite cryptic to me.
