I'm probably not alone in closing an Everything window of several and regretting it. I often have them precisely arranged with the right internal arrangement.
I wonder if a window closure event could be included in the History log for undoing? Window size and position and full state (or at least the basics but you probably already have a routine for recording state).
Perhaps in the undo history it could represent this by the search string with an icon beside or column symbol, and utilising it would restore the window with the search exactly or close to what it was...
I'm not sure such information needs to be stored long term, it could be held transiently against history ID for an hour or two and only when held show the symbol.
* Perhaps in the History dialog the Open button should also always have an Open New Window button as well, and that would cover the handling of these ones, so whether a history was the result of a closure or not, people would always have the option of opening in the current window or a new one.

Re: Window History?
Saving sessions is on my TODO list.
Like Firefox, the plan is to have a History -> Recently Closed Tabs/Windows option.
Thank you for the suggestion.

Re: Window History?
Cheers! I also added a bit at the end just as you were typing about a second button "Open New Window" for all history entries of any kind.

Re: Window History?
So the history child window has not been added yet? I think this will be very useful. Please considering adding this window!

Everything 1.5 has:
Find History (Ctrl + H)
-Please make sure you enable search history under Tools -> Options -> History -> Enable Search History.
A history pane is on my TODO list.
Sessions have been added.

Re: Window History?
You mean these two windows? Right now when double click the item in these two history windows, the history window will be closed automatically.
So how to keep them always open?

Organize Search History (Ctrl + Shift + H) should remain open after double clicking on an item or selecting a history item and clicking Open.
Find Search History will always close after double clicking an item or selecting a history item and clicking Open.

Great! Thanks for your replying! I find that Organize Search History is indeed remain open but not always on the top after double clicking the item.void wrote: Mon Jun 16, 2025 3:12 am Organize Search History (Ctrl + Shift + H) should remain open after double clicking on an item or selecting a history item and clicking Open.

I think it is better to add the search history child window like the bookmark window that embedded in the main window.

At the same time, I'm wondering whether is it possible to considering add the history navigation button here?
That will also help a lot. Thank you!
