How to add subfolders to the "Include Only" list?

Post by luckulucki »

Hello,

I'd like to add a folder with all its subfolders to the "include only" list under Options->Indexes->NTFS->my drive (D:)->Include only:

so EV will only index
D:\only this folder and all its subfolders\
(and of course all the files in the root of this folder and all its subfolders)

but it seems, I can only add a folder without its subfolders, because EV only shows files inside
D:\only this folder and all its subfolders\
itself, after reindexing. No files are shown from the subfolders.

I tried to be smart and used:
"D:\only this folder and all its subfolders\*.*"

or
"D:\only this folder and all its subfolders\*"

but that didn't work out.

Is there something, I do wrong here? and how would I add all the subfolders of my "Include only" Folder?

Thank you.

subfolders should automatically be included.

What version of Everything are you using?

-Please check if you are excluding the subfolders under Tools -> Options -> Exclude

Thank you,

I don't know, what went wrong, but after removing the "Include Only" Folder and adding it again, it works now.
The folder itself was fine/existing/correct, though, because EV showed the contents of it, but not the subfolder's content)

So the usual oddities...

Sorry for wasting your precious time (and mine) ;-D

This just happened to me. I use Everything on several networked computers and saw a set of files was missing on one computer that showed up on another. The files were local to the "showing" computer and missing on the remote one's EV results. I tried to rescan but that didn't help.
Deleting/reentering the remote path worked.
This is a silent fail.
