Everything suddenly not searching

Post by kruuth »

A few days ago I tried searching w/Everything in Win10. Nothing came up. Window is completely empty. I tried updating Everything but that didn't help. It starts but there's never anything in the window. What do I do here? Did I mess up a permission someplace?

Please make sure no search options are checked under the Search menu (eg: uncheck match case, uncheck match whole words, uncheck regex)

Please make sure the Everything filter is active under the Search menu.

Please make sure these files are not excluded from Tools -> Options -> Exclude.

Please make sure your NTFS volumes are included in your index:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the NTFS tab on the left.
  • For each volume:
    • Check Include in database.
  • Click OK.

Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and running as a standard user:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.

Please try forcing a rebuild:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Indexes tab on the left.
  • Click Force Rebuild.
  • Click OK.

Does the issue persist?

Thank you that seems to have fixed it. I don't know why it wasn't including the NTFS volumes
