Bring back old "right click menu" or add options

Hi everyone,

before updating to 1.5a I was able to rename multiple files at once with just "right click">"Rename with Powertoys rename",
after updating this option is not available anymore in the context menu, is there a way to bring back the old context menu or to add the "Rename with Powertoys rename" option?

Looks like the context menu shell extensions are not loading.

Have you disabled context menu shell extensions under Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> context_menu_shell_extensions ?



Are you using file lists?
If so, please enable Tools -> Options -> Advanced -> filelist_context_menu



Please try enabling context_menu_simple_pidl and context_menu_focus_simple_pidl

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.
• To the right of Show settings containing, search for:
  context
• Select: context_menu_simple_pidl
• Set the value to: true
• Select: context_menu_focus_simple_pidl
• Set the value to: true
• Click OK.

thanks for the reply,

filelist_context_menu was already enabled,

context_menu_simple_pidl and
context_menu_focus_simple_pidl
both were set to false, changed to true, even restarted my system, but the context menu is still the same.

A colleague from the IT department was in my office, he tried starting Everything as admin (admin password and username needed), and the context menu changed as in picture below:

still no "Rename with PowerRename",

Download the 1.5 ZIP versions, both x86 & x64.
Unpack each into separate directories; say /zip86/ & /zip64/.

Quit Everything
Run Everything.exe in /zip86/.
Does the expected context-menu show up?
Quit Everything

Quit Everything
Run Everything.exe in /zip64/.
Does the expected context-menu show up?
Quit Everything

Test above again, only this time, right-click Everything.exe & 'Run As Administrator'.

Did the expected context-menu show up in any of the above four scenarios?

Please try disabling context_menu_simple_pidl and context_menu_focus_simple_pidl:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Advanced tab on the left.

Please send debug logs when right clicking some files:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, check Verbose.
• From the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Start Debug Logging.
• Right click a few selected files.
• From the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Stop Debug Logging.
  ---This will open your %TEMP%\Everything Debug Log.txt in Notepad.
• Please upload this file in a bugreport.

Starting Everything using the Portable version does indeed bring back the right Context Menu:

Thank you for the logs.
Everything is not processing the normal context menu at all..

I suspect Everything sees these files as offline.

What drive are the files on?
-Please try disabling monitor changes on all your NAS folders:

• In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the Folders tab on the left.
• For each NAS folder:
  • Uncheck Attempt to monitor changes.
• Click OK.

From your other post, it appears Everything is not monitor changes to your NAS folders anyway.

Everything will treat the files as online if you disable "Attempt to monitor changes".

disabling "Attempt to monitor changes." fixed the problem,
The details of the Shared Folder are to me unknown,
btw the Shared Folder are under the submenu "Network Drives", the "Folder" submenu is empty.
