This is driving me nuts. Seemingly out of the blue it's now opening after boot—Everything open itself on my desktip. There was a pop-up a few days ago if I wanted to run the EVERYTHING service so I said, yes...I think.
I checked the settings, installed the latest update. Ro-booted and the issue remains. I checked MS Config and there's no Everything Service list unless it's under another name. I don't want to uninstall and reinstall because I have quite a few folders listed in the excluded preferences. I don't want to have to go through the hassle to manually add again.
Is there a fix besides uninstalling and using something like Revo to remove all traces of Everything and then reinstalling?
Everything is opening on boot—startup is disabled!

Sounds like something is removing the Everything Service.
Please make sure Everything is installed correctly:
Check your Tools -> Options -> General -> Start Everything on system startup setting
Check your shell:startup folder
Check for scheduled tasks launching Everything
Check for third party tools calling Everything.
Please make sure Everything is installed correctly:
- In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
- Click the General tab on the left.
- Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
- Uncheck Run as administrator.
- Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
- Click OK.
- Exit Everything (from the File menu, click Exit).
- Restart Everything.

Thanks, I'll try the workaround and report back. There is no link to any evrything in the starup as previously mentioned.
What's the difference between running as admin or Everything service? I would prefer not running the service. This was the first time this happened.
On another note, I did find the everything ini file and it does contain excluded folders but I am curious why it doesn't also include my bookmarks? I may have to uninstall and reinstall if everything continues to open after booting.

Everything Service: GUI runs as a standard user. Everything NTFS Indexer/monitor runs as a service. What's the difference between running as admin or Everything service?
Run Everything as admin: GUI runs as a admin.
-If you are using Everything 1.5 and don't wish to run as administrator, please consider the index as admin option.
Bookmarks are stored in your Bookmarks.csv file.I did find the everything ini file and it does contain excluded folders but I am curious why it doesn't also include my bookmarks?
Typically under %APPDATA%\Everything
Otherwise, in the same location as your Everything.exe
