Does the Exclude Filter works on Network Indexes too?

Post by luckulucki »

Hello,

so I added an Exclude Filter
**\AppData\Roaming\Micosoft\Recent\
which works/excludes/hides nicely the results from local matches in the search result, but not from Network Indexes, like
\\192.168.188.123\C\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent
.
Results from this source/path are still shown, although I expected them to not shown with my filter.

Is this a known limitation/feature which I just could'nt figure out yet in the docs, or do I have to enhance my Exclude Filter in any way or form?

This is how it looks like:

Thank you very much, I honestly don't know what I'd do without EV. ;-D

I suspect this is caused by a typo in your filter:

**\AppData\Roaming\Micosoft\Recent\
\\192.168.188.123\C\Users\user\AppData\Roaming\Microsoft\Windows\Recent

Please try adding an additional filter:

**\AppData\Roaming\Micosoft\Windows\Recent\

Ok, the Typo was it, thank you very much!

Also the local "Recent" folder wasn't shown, because its a folder with "system" attribute set, which I selected to exclude.

I learned, that those Attributes are not transfered over the Network Indexes, so a Filter is necessary.

Thank you both again!
