Hi there. I wrote about this in the Suggestions section, but I do believe it is also a UI interaction bug. So I'm going to write about it here.
I would like to suggest to add an option to turn off the "Current search query" that runs automatically when the program crashes and reopened. Because when the program has a lot of tabs and the program crashes, then when you open the program one more time, the program will freeze for a long time until you press "Cancel current query" box for a lot of search windows/tabs.
If you don't interact with these window boxes, you cant touch the UI in anyway, the UI freezes completely until you press those boxes. and if you tried to interact with the UI before stopping them, the program will crash.
And if I may, I would like also to suggest to add an export and import sessions to the program. So one can be sure that he saves the current session that he is working in right now without going deep into folders. And then when he wants, he can load the session one more time easily.
If I may also to suggest adding an option to quickly backup and load all the "Settings - Bookmarks - History - Filters - Sessions - the Database" with one option that will immediately save all these settings into a predefined folder, where the folder is the current date, in this format "12-04-2025", with a keyboard shortcut like "Ctrl+Alt+B" . So If you fear of a crash, or you are not sure if something wrong could happen during your testing, or you want to test a new update to Everything, you can simply press the shortcut, then install the new update, or even restore all you setting with one option very quickly and efficiently.
I know you can back every one of those settings "except the Sessions and Database" by going to the respected menus, but a one click solution is far more superior and faster that going through all these windows and settings one by one to backup. Especially if it saves to an automatic folder names by the date .
Best regards

Re: Potential bug - UI freezing and crash when interaction during query waiting
I'll just note that I've not seen that behavior - not the freezing, not the UI.
In my case, I'll restore oh (not sure offhand) a dozen windows (& unknown number of tabs).
And (as noted in the other thread) while I may see the query dialog, I simply ignore them & they close on their own.
On my end, all this is not particularly time consuming, so potentially I would not be able to interact with Everything during its' "load" (but I'm not sure)?
(Actually, I've not Quit, Restored in some time - as new alphas haven't been put out in some time now.
And as it is, otherwise I typically never Quit Everything, nor do I reboot my computer, so unless something unforeseen comes up, my uptime is long. [Current computer is 17 days, & that is short.]
Likewise, even if I do Quit, Restore, there is not a whole lot new, that Everything needs to pick up on.)
So about how many windows, tabs, files, indexed Properties, RAM usage, time to complete... are we talking about on your end?

Re: Potential bug - UI freezing and crash when interaction during query waiting
As you kindly mentioned that it is not happening on your side, I thought to test the latest version to see if the problem is there, although my version wasn't that far away "Everything-1.5.0.1383a.x64", but none the less.
The problem is there, you can't use the UI or search for anything while the program is starting, and even if the UI started, you have to wait for the message boxes to appear so you can press "Cancel current query" multiple times, like 7 to 10 times, then you have to wait more until the UI completely loads before using.
So, yeah
...
My usage is heavy, loads of windows with loads of tabs, like a lot, a lot lot
