Is it really the case that Everything is unchangeably case-sensitive? EDIT: no!

Today when Everything failed to find something that I expected, I discovered - very belatedly - that the searches are case-sensitive. And I cannot find an option to make the searches case-insensitive. I really hope I am overlooking something here. For, case sensitivity seems to fit poorly with the name 'Everything' and will throw some users.

I am using Everything 1.4.1.1026 (x64) on Windows 10 Pro - 22H2 (2009: 19045).

Thank you. I am afraid that is a rather severe case of PEBCAK. For, not only had I neglected that option; also - and this too was messing with my results - I had 'match whole world' enabled. Further yet, I see that there are indicators - though only for the 'enabled' state - for both of those things in the status bar!

Quick tips:

Double-clicking the status bar indicator(s) will also disable them.
(right-clicking the status bar gives you even more options ..)

Everything has quite a modest interface and most "communication" is done through the status bar.
In case of doubt: check the status bar.

You do not mean that it will disable the indicator. You mean that it will disable the option at issue. My point (though) was that when an option was disabled it does not show in the status bar. Hence - I add - one cannot use the double-click functionality that you mention to toggle options. That is perhaps unfortunate. Still: 'In case of doubt: check the status bar' - right you are.

That is correct: double-clicking is only to disable the search modifiers.

Enabling can be done through Menu => Search => ... or right-cick the status bar => ...
Or by using the assigned keyboard shortcuts.
