In alpha the background scan was added, I have an external hard disk partition in the index (I have the option “automatically remove offline volumes” disabled) but every time I insert this hdd by usb and then open everything, it does a scan (that white screen with a loading bar in the corner) and it is slightly annoying as this is not really a “background scan”.
I don't know if I'm being clear about what I'm trying to say.
blank screen while scanning an external partition
Re: blank screen while scanning an external partition
The initial scan is in the "foreground", but once added to the index, updates will take place in the background.
So it sounds like:
- the initial scan takes place
- and can be used while Everything is running
- but will not be saved to disk when Eeverything exits
- So it will have to do a new initial scan (in the foreground)
