Generating Thumbnails for .stl files but not .obj files (often crashes but only with .obj thumbnails)

OK so I'm mainly using Everything to both browse and manage my storage of 3D print file its around 8TB right now I'm working on optimizing it

When I'm doing this its often easier to visually distinguish some models using thumbnails like which are duplicates but with aren't identical or which have supports that I don't need etc

I use Papa's best STL Thumbnails to generate Well stl Thumbnails and it works like a dream it generate thumbnails as fast as I can scroll.
I'm using Blaze3D to view models in detail as its fast and can switch files directly in the folder.

But I can't for the life of me get Everything to generate the .obj Thumbnails mind you Windows Explorer generates them as fast as the stl files

I've purged the Thumbnail cache multiple times I've changed the Thumbnail settings in Everything to Above Normal I've run out of ideas

The installation order is Blaze3d then Papa's best STL Thumbnails.

Visual of the issue when ever I think I've got it generate thumbnails Everything crashes instead.

Are you running Everything as administrator? ("ADMINISTRATOR" will be shown in the title bar)
Running as administrator gives you limited functionality and should only be used in specific edge cases.


Please make sure Everything is installed correctly and is not running as administrator:

• In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
• Click the General tab on the left.
• Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
• Uncheck Run as administrator.
• Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
• Click OK.
• Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
• Restart Everything.

The Settings were already in the configuration described and I've already preformed a fresh installation of Everything 1.5a.

Just to be sure I also tried to Uncheck/check the mentioned options but no change.

Everything doesn't seem able to generate .obj Thumbnails neither when 3dBlaze, Microsoft 3DViewer, Assimp or f3d etc are run as the default program

Either I just get the logo or Everything crashes.
