no results by search

i updated to version 1. 4.1.1026 from 1.4.1.1022. Before and after update no searches yield good results. Example: the bottom line shows "3,424,164 objects" but under the "Name" heading numerous identical duplicates are listed when the search field is blank. Entering an arbitrary alphabetic letter, e.g., "u", blanks the field under "Name" and the bottom line shows "0 objects".
I have read the post "Not giving any results" written on December 20, 2024 & the reply by void & performed all of the listed diagnostic steps. Nothing changes.
Help to restore functional use is requested.

Make sure no search modifiers, like Match Whole Word" are enabled: only "Everything" should be enabled under Menu => Search.

Tip: check the statusbar. All enabled search modifiers will be shown there. Double-clicking will disable each.

Thank you for your interest and contribution. I stumbled upon the solution. I found in the settings a command to "rebuild" the database. That made sense because the search seemed to be frozen and was not reporting correctly the number of files on the machine. After rebuilding the database, I closed and re-opened the Everything application. It works as expected now.
