Quicklook 3.7.3 not working with Everything 1.4.1?

Quicklook 3.7.3 not working with Everything 1.4.1?

I just installed Quicklook 3.7.3 on a Windows 10 computer.

It works in Windows folders, but doesn't work with Everything.

For example, if I select a pdf file from among the result of an Everything search, Quicklook won't preview it.

Everything itself properly previews it in the preview pane.

Am I doing something wrong?

It is a bit of hit-and-miss with QuickLook. Some versions work fine, others don't.
(Search this forum for QuickLook for issues).

But before heading to the QuickLook forums to ask there, are you running Everything as administrator?
Windows prohibits administrator and non-administrator applications to "talk to each other" for security reasons.

If running as administrator:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the General tab on the left.
  • Check Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything.
  • Uncheck Run as administrator.
  • Check Everything Service. (Please make sure this is tick-checked and not square-checked)
  • Click OK.
  • Exit Everything (right click the Everything tray icon and click Exit).
  • Restart Everything.

Thank you very much. My installation of Everything was already set up like that. I re-checked it to make sure.

I can easily live without Quicklook.

I couldn't live without Everything.
