In a different thread, I have posted a writeup of a context menu problem. Briefly, I select a handful of files listed in the results of an Everything search, I right-click on them, and I get a context menu that does not show a WinRAR option. That is new in Windows 11 (24H2); the WinRAR option did appear in the context menu in Everything in Win10.
Within Win11, the problem seems specific to Everything. Right-clicking on a handful of files listed in Windows File Explorer does give me a WinRAR option.
As indicated in that thread, the developer of WinRAR has added an option that restores the WinRAR context menu option in Everything - at the expense of giving me duplicate WinRAR context menu options elsewhere.
I'm not sure whether this is an actual bug in Everything. I didn't closely follow a seemingly related discussion in another thread, but it sounds like this may be a side effect of an informed decision in the development of Everything.
Missing WinRAR context menu item in Everything search results
Re: Missing WinRAR context menu item in Everything search results
Is the WinRAR context menu entry shown when you:
- right-click a single file?
- right-click multiple selected files in the same folder?
- right-click multiple selected files in multiple folders?
- Same questions as above, but now by SHIFT-right-clicking

Running Everything "as Administrator"?
If so, context-menu could be different.

Re: Missing WinRAR context menu item in Everything search results
Good questions. Within my testing, the behavior at issue persists regardless of number or type of files selected (i.e., from one file to ~800); of whether Everything is run as administrator; of whether I select similar or dissimilar filetypes; and of whether the selected files span multiple folders or partitions.
Shift-right-click does not seem to affect the results. Note, however, that while I was recently testing on a stock system, at this point I am testing on a tweaked system. My context menu is no longer stock. I'm not sure how Shift-right-click menus might differ on a stock system. But the developer's response seems to indicate that, in any case, this is not an unfamiliar issue.
In short, within my testing, regardless of those assorted circumstances, the WinRAR menu option is simply present when I select the WinRAR option to show legacy context menus, and simply absent when I don't.
