Don't clone/duplicate tab when opening new tab/window

Is there a way to make it so new tabs and windows open blank, i.e. without any search content, instead of with a copy of whatever search exists in another already open tab/window?

New windows/tabs will use your default search settings under Tools -> Options -> Home.
