ctrl+space hotkey not working in windows 11

Hey there, windows 11 recently updated for me and now the ctrl+space hotkey isn't working.

I'm on Windows 11 Version 22H2 (OS Build 22621.1778).

I re-mapped to ctrl+shift+space and that works, but would like to have the original hotkey back working. Any thoughts?

Another program is most likely registering the Hotkey.



Sorry, I don't have a good way to work out what program is registering Ctrl + Space.
Does pressing Ctrl + Space do anything?

Nothing else should be blocking it as it was working prior to a windows update.

Pressing ctrl+space does nothing. Very strange

I also can't map Ctrl-Space with Everything, never did it, now just for testing.
Pressing the spacebar does nothing while holding Ctrl in the add hotkey dialog.

I have no problem to map Ctrl-Space with the AHK tool QAP
even after the latest Windows 11 update from this week.
So nothing is blocking this combination.

In my version (22621.1702) 'CTRL + space' can be used by Everything.

What happens when pressing 'CTRL + space' ?

PowerToys installed? PowerToys Run uses the same hotkey IIRC.

Spot on with PowerToys! I also saw it updated just a day or two ago. I uninstalled it and ctrl+space is working now. I know i could change it from powertoys but I don't think I'm using powertoys anymore anyways.

That is the exact reason why I mentioned PowerToys
Read somewhere that is was now version 0.70 and as it is all still very unstable software, suspected PowerToys could be the culprit.

Yes its also fixed for me by disabling the new PowerToys Peek modul.
I doesn't need it as I never use Explorer.
One can also change its shortcut.
