Stop auto indexing on start

When I start Everything, it starts indexing and takes a .. kinda long time. Can I turn it off (sorry if my englsh was bad)

Updating the index will happen when you index non-NTFS and network drives. Those are updated on a schedule.
See menu:Tools > Options > Indexes > Folders to find out the schedule of each added folder.

When you schedule to scan disks/folders at 03:00 for example and your machine (or Everything) is not running at that time or that folder is not available, Everything will miss that schedule.
When the conditions are right again, Everything will start re-scanning to make up for that missed schedule as soon as possible.
You can overrule that behaviour by entering this in the Everything searchbar:
/folder_update_rescan_asap=0
and press ENTER.
That way it will only scan at the scheduled times.


Alternatively, you can use Everything 1.5. as that version will do the updating in the background (after the initial full scan), so you can start using Everything straightaway.
