Both of the C: drives are shown here as being online:

One shows:

The other:

So they are the same indexes / drive but they are different?
What is the explanation for this?

I take it there were more then one, at some point (& I'm not familiar with that part).I have one online C: drive now.
More than one C: drives some time ago? Yes, that is right. Sorry, what part?I take it there were more then one, at some point (& I'm not familiar with that part).
2 C: drives now? No. Only one. The common installation of Win. Or do you mean the two (or more) C: indexes in the screenshots above, I meant? But it looks like you have 2 C:'s.
C: (C:)
Local Disk (C:)
Yes, that is an old partition where C: once was installed. And that something that is masquerading as a "C", but is really, D:
C (D:)
Yes, a partition on that old C: drive, not existing anymore.Oh, & you also have a Y (C:) (Offline)
No, no, that never has been activated. I want to keep all of the offline volumes.I'll guess what you're seeing has something to do with Tools | Options | Indexes -> NTFS -> Automatically remove offline volumes ?
Hmmm, OK, well...And at some point you had add/removed or whatnot... [& I'm not sure after that]... ?
You have included multiple instances of your C: in your index. So they are the same indexes / drive but they are different?
If you want to keep these offline volumes you are going to end up with duplicated volumes. No, no, that never has been activated. I want to keep all of the offline volumes.
One of them is not online. But why at all are there two indexes for the same online drive, why do both of these C: indexes show different files of the same drive and a different amount of files etc.? As it is online both of the indexes should show the identical content of the drive, I would assume.
You will only be able to remove offline volumes. So then I should remove one of them, but which one? Or I remove both of them and let Everything automatically rescan the the C: drive? How would I do it?
These are different and the same Win installations on C:. Everything automatically added them. You have included multiple instances of your C: in your index.

But both of the opens a folder / file when clicking on them. One of them is not online.
They all are in NTFS. The only item I have outside of NTFS is one in FAT, a USB Stick. This might help indicate where the offline volume is under Tools -> Options -> (FAT/NTFS/REFS/etc..)
