No Place to Create or Edit My signature

In my profile I see several places where I can enable Signatures but no place that I can create or edit them. What am I not doing, or what am I doing wrong?

You can't enable them and also there is no way to edit.

You are doing nothing wrong. Signatures are disabled on these forums.

That helps with fighting spam as those spammers make (very!) creative use of all options they can get to spread their message.
And taking action against this took quite a bit of time. Time we could not spend on answering forum questions.

For the same reason more personal profile options are disabled, like adding a website.
Thanks to these measures (and more), we are now largely spam-free.
