In Windows it shrinks and expands according to the text in the current view.
In Everything it does not always shrink according to the text in the current view.
Size Column to Fit - it does not work as expected - as in Windows

Re: Size Column to Fit - it does not work as expected - as in Windows
Everything currently expands to the longest text length seen for the current search.
I have put on my TODO list to use the longest text from the visible results when sizing columns to fit.
Thanks for the suggestion.

Everything 1.5.0.1315a will now resize columns to the longest visible text when auto sizing columns.

Did you prefer Everything expanding to the longest text length seen for the current search?

I prefer the columns to stay the size I have set them to with a per session option to change them.
One very long path or name changes the visible columns.

Everything will not automatically change your column widths.
I have reworded the change above.
Everything will only resize your columns when you auto-size your columns (for example: Ctrl + + or double click a column divider)

Tested. I think it works ok.
Toggle auto-size-column-fitting
You drag with the mouse the slider button of the vertical scrolling, and the the whole result list is auto-size-column-fitting
I'm not sure it's a bad idea to add such a feature. It's need experience if it useful in some cases.

I will consider an option to always auto size the columns.
