duplicate results

Post by rmerchant »

I'm getting, all of a sudden, a listing containing a ton of "duplicated" results. Screenshot shows that of drives - noted the repeated drive "I" - which is a usb drive which is currently not attached. I've done a total uninstall of the program, hopefully removing the indexes, and reinstalled the most recent alpha. I tried a forced re-index first but that didn't make a difference hence the reinstall.

The fact that the I drive shows up suggests to me that I didn't successfully delete the indexes...

I think it was doing it with folders or files before but I cannot reproduce that right now...

Thank you for the bug report rmerchant,

There might be a database corruption issue.

Could you please send me your database statistics:
  • In Everything 1.5, from the Tools menu, under the Debug submenu, click Statistics.
  • Press Ctrl + A to select all the text.
  • Press Ctrl + C to copy the selected text to the clipboard.
  • Could you please paste this in an email and sent it to support@voidtools.com
What is shown under Tools -> Options -> Folders?
What is shown under Tools -> Options -> NTFS?

-If multiple I: drives are listed, please let me know and try removing them.

Please try forcing a rebuild:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Indexes tab on the left.
  • Click Force Rebuild.
  • Click OK.

Thank you for the screenshots and statistics.

The screenshots and statistics show multiple removable NTFS volumes with the I: drive letter.

Please try disabling Automatically include new removable volumes and removing these volumes from your index:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the NTFS tab on the left.
  • Uncheck Automatically include new removable volumes. (this should be unchecked by default)
  • For each I: listed under NTFS volumes:
    • Click the Remove button on the right.
  • Click OK.
