Does "Everything" find the folder that is missing these files?
Are there any other files found in the folder with missing files?
"Everything" is limited to 255 bytes per file name.
Chinese characters take 3 bytes per character, are the file name lengths greater than 85 characters in length?

To check your NTFS volumes for errors:......
Great! I ran this NTFS check and the next boot I saw WINXP disk check and found some segment xxxxx unreadable, etc. When repair is done, I rebuild Everything database, and "everything" is working perfect.
To get fast performance, I always close WINXP's disk check function. I'll change this habbit, at least for NTFS partitions. Hope my case would help other guys with the same situation...
