How do find files that Everything does not find?
Eg.
chkdsk
a file path e.g.
C:\System Volume Information\Chkdsk\Chkdsk20181219082347.log

Not sure?
But I take it that you've already granted yourself sufficient privileges to access the directory?
And you've tried using both the Everything Service & also running Everything "As Administrator"?

No problem to find chkdsk, 15 objects on my Windows 10.Debugger wrote: Thu Mar 28, 2019 10:51 pm How do find files that Everything does not find?

You can't search anything in C:\System Volume Information
its blocked by Windows even for Administrators.

Many system files do not find Everything, but if something is a comparison, MasterSeeker (tool) finds it.

"System Volume Information" folder is excluded by default (???, i guess, i don't remember adding exclude list as" ?:\System Volume Information\").
Tools->Options->Indexes->Exclude.
I deleted that entry, and everything is showing the files.
IMO, its safe to leave that folder alone...
Also make sure, Exclude hidden & system files is NOT checked.

You do not have the required permissions to view the files attached to this post.

(On XP at the moment, so less relevant [what I'm seeing here],
but I wonder what I used for my search when I had looked & whether I had Match Path enabled or not?
Almost certain I would have had no Excludes.)

Borrowed a 10er & on my end, it simply must have been that I did not set Match Path.
