Search for series of numbers in file name

I have a lot of image files. I used to be able to type in: 9865 and get all files that have that seq. in the file name. Now I have to add IMG_9865 before I get any hits. Is there some shortcut I'm missing or a way to make it work that way?

Check your Search options.
You likely have Match Whole Word (Ctrl+W) selected.
