Get a new utility ;-).

Try Process Hacker or Process Monitor.

In general, overall, Everything's "load" should be negligible.
Have LOTS of activity on your system going on, there might be a temporary uptick.
Doing nothing but replying to this forum, you shouldn't be seeing much of anything.

Please make sure you are using Everything 1.4.1.895 or later.

Please make sure Everything is shutting down successfully when you shutdown your computer. -If Everything does not shutdown correctly, it will need to update from the last time it was shutdown successfully, this could mean processing thousands of updates.

Please make sure "Compress database" is disabled.
Compressing the database uses a lot of CPU to load and save the Everything database to disk.

To disable "Compress database":
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the Indexes tab.
  • Uncheck Compress database.
  • Click OK.
If windows does a big update, there will be many changes Everything will need to process the next time Everything starts.
