Icon can't be customized in 1.4.1.773(x64)
When I put a customized icon as Everything.ico in the installed folder, Everything doesn't change the icon display.

Appears to work here..
Please make sure the icon is named Everything.ico
Only the icon for the Everything search window, taskbar and alt + tab is changed. You will have to change any shortcuts and pinned items yourself.
If you are using multiple instances, make sure you name your icon Everything-<Instance Name>.ico
For example, if you use the instance name:
ETP Server
the Everything icon should be named:
Everything-ETP Server.ico

Verify that the file is actually an .ico (& not just the extension).
Try a different .ico file.
The one I use is 32x32.
(Actually its both 16x16 & 32x32.)
Verify that the "installed folder" is actually where you are running Everything from.
