A killerapp feature to this program would be ability to retrieve folders and attachments from IMAP folders - just like the X1 Search program.

Everything doesn't index IMAP folders.
If you have a good email client that stores emails on the file system with the .eml extension, then you can use Everything 1.4 to search these files and their contents.
For example, search emails from this month, containing the text "sunrise":
*.eml dm:thismonth content:sunrise
