Keyboard Hotkeys Keeps Disappearing on Windows 10

Hi,
I use Everything (Version 1.3.4.686 (x64)) on my Windows 10 pc.
I define "Show window" hotkey (Shift+Esc) and it works for a little time.

But after some time, when i try to use "Shift+Esc" combination, Everything window does not come up.
And when i check the "Options --> Keyboard" settings, i see that my previous hotkey definition is gone.

I keep re-defining it but after some time it disappears again. (I tried other hotkey than Shift+Esc, but same result.)

Is there any solution for this?

If you make other setting changes, do they also revert, or just that particular hotkey?

Permissions related issue, for some reason?

Have you tried making the change, then fully exiting Everything, then restarting Everything (& see if it persists after that)?


From the Mozilla end, Preferences not saved (can't hurt).

Please make sure "Store settings and data in %APPDATA%\Everything" is enabled from Tools -> Options -> General.

This option is already enabled.

I tried something else.
I uninstalled the x64 version and installed x86 version. Until now hotkeys are working.
I will update if the problem occurs again.

i can attest to this problem (i'm using Windows 7 however). the hotkeys are not stored when i choose the settings to be saved in the installation folder. it will save hotkeys when i choose %APPDATA% as the storage location.

this happens for both Everything-1.3.4.686.x86 & x64 versions and is still a bug in Everything-1.4.0.709b.x64.

You can't save settings in the installation folder if this is under program files !
This is a normal security behaviour of Windows 7 and newer OSs.
