Help please.
Thanks
I have drive C set to be indexed (with all options enabled). If I search for regedit.exe (C:\Windows\regedit.exe), the real file is not shown by Everything, just the copies in the C:\Windows\WinSxS folder. Then some files in the C:\Windows\System32 folder will instead show files in the C:\Windows\SysWOW64 folder. If I add C:\Windows to Indexes > Folders, the real regedit.exe file is found, but then I get duplicate entries for other file names, i.e. regedit.exe.mui. Is there a way to make Everything show all true file locations without getting duplicated entries shown in the search results list, or is this a limitation with Windows itself?void wrote:Please remove duplicated indexes from Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> Folders.
These duplicated indexes have most likely already been included as NTFS indexes in Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> NTFS.
Eight years later and this fix still worked for me. I have no idea why the settings changed, but it was easy to remedy thanks to you! I still love this little tool and use it dozens of times every day.void wrote: Mon Nov 10, 2014 1:38 am Please remove duplicated indexes from Tools -> Options -> Indexes -> Folders.
