Everything (x64) on Windows 8.1 64-bit

Everything does not find files in C:\Windows (and below). For instance a search for "Notepad.exe", finds

1. C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-notepad_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_5fd8ed8643f6c1e7\notepad.exe
2. C:\Windows\WinSxS\wow64_microsoft-windows-notepad_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_6a2d97d8785783e2\notepad.exe

...but does nto find
3. C:\Windows\notepad.exe
4. C:\Windows\System32\notepad.exe
5. C:\Windows\SysWOW64\notepad.exe
6. C:\Windows\WinSxS\amd64_microsoft-windows-notepadwin_31bf3856ad364e35_6.3.9600.16384_none_33882ce9cf04143d\notepad.exe

If C: is added as a folder (C:\) under (Options > Indexes > Folders) then all six Notepad.exes are found

Those files which are not found are hardlinks and unfortunately Everything lists only the main files. That is a limitation under the NTFS journal mode. If you add c: as a dir it will be shown.

Was there a thread on using the File Lists feature as a kind of work around for that?

I know this is an old thread, but I just wanted to say thanks for the tip about adding C: as a folder. Now it finds hardlinks in C:\Windows and C:\Windows\system32.

Makes Everything more useful to me for sure.
