What is expected behavior... ?

Say you sort on Length
(This is with a 'lazyload', not a Property length [indexed] sort)
Then do a 'Find Length Duplicates'
Then 'cancel' the DUPE

Should sort remain on Length?
(As is, it reverts to 'Name' sort.)

I don't know if it's a feature or not [OK, so it is], but with a Multi-file Rename (F2), a / (or \) causes directory creation. So... Default is to not automatically index (new) external devices.
But you can change that.

You didn't specify a directory to install to.
So maybe the (default) install to location has changed?
(Suppose ? something like that could happen if you switched from x86 to x64 version?)

AFAIK, debug logs or dumps are specifically generated by the user & it is up to the user to forwarded them to voidtools.
Nothing automatic.
So unless you specifically do it, it's not happening.

In 1.5, you can set your search as wanted, first.

Then, instead of using the sizedupe: function, you can right-click the Size (or some other) column (& select) the 'Find Size (or some other) Duplicates'.

Doing that will search for dupes only based on your current search.

For certain functions, like dupe:, you have to effect a change to the search before it updates.
So if you change from:
regex:^(.*)\.mp3 fileexists:\1.jpg
to:
regex:^(.*)\.mp3 fileexists:\1.jpg.
(adding a .), then backspace, removing the dot, it will update.

That indexes all files (meeting the filter).
(For me, that is too much.)

I was just looking for something that worked on a "lazy load" basis, current window only, such that back arrow remembered previous sort, even if was happened to be on a Property: (like Length).

Have you set sort to name, then Quit, then started again?

Tools, Options, Home, defaults to remembering last used column & sort.
So if you last had the sort set to Path... when your reopen the next time, it would (still) be on path.
