Re: 1.4 suggestions and observations
As I understand it, the requested feature was to drag & drop a file from Windows Explorer (or equivalent) onto a folder listed in the "Path" column of a search result. At least in my copy of the latest version, this feature doesn't exist (or doesn't work). That is a feature I would LOVE to have as w...

Re: Cannot exit
Thank you, NotNull, for your response. The problem I was having is that Everything would not launch, so I went to Process Hacker to make sure it wasn't running. I am admin, but I could not quit it (nor launch it with its window showing). So I posted here. Then I quit another program that never gave ...

Cannot exit
Hi. Everything.exe will not exit, even using Task Manager (and other tools that promise to quit a stubborn program). It never did this before. It has no window but won't quit.
Have you ever seen this problem? If so, do you have an idea of what to do, short of rebooting?
Thank you.

Re: Unable to create USN Journal error
I have a new Seagate 4TB drive and cannot index it with Everything (which works for all my other 4TB drives) because of the "Unable to create USN Journal on T:" error. Can you help?

Re: Everything prevents TrueCrypt from unmounting volumes?
Unfortunately, I have a similar problem with v1.2.1.451a. In general it often prevents the unmounting of some (but not all) external volumes, even ones that don't use TrueCrypt, but particularly those that do (even after dismounting those volumes in TrueCrypt). The external volumes I use are connect...

File by ID (as given by CHKDSK)?
When you use CHKDSK on an NTFS volume, it reports any file problems using file ID numbers (like 175050) instead of pathnames. D'oh! There is essentially no way to get the file pathname from the ID. Does Everything already have those ID numbers handy when it indexes NTFS volumes? If so, could you add...

Re: No problems, just a question
Thank you! And thanks for an extraordinary programming job. Referring to the lighning-fast indexing of huge volumes, I truly wonder what technical tricks/techniques you've used that have apparently gone unexploited all these years by tens of thousands of other talented programmers. Anyway, when Micr...

Re: Add volume-selection buttons
Yes, I would love such a feature too. However, I'd prefer that they be checkboxes so that it would be quick and easy to select any subset of volumes for the search. (By default they'd all be checked.) I was about to post just such a request. (As you might guess, I keep different kinds of things on d...

No problems, just a question
I see that you offer a newer .exe as a beta, to fix certain problems users may be having. I am not having any problems with the latest version, but am curious about what's changed in that beta version. Is there anywhere to learn what's coming in the very next release and/or how close it is? Would yo...

Re: thanks for this great tool
It's simply stunning. I would not have believed a tool this fast could be created. What were all the other software authors doing wrong all these years? Kudos on this great achievement. I've waited 20+ years for something like this. (When I read about it in PCWorld, I thought it might be worth a loo...
