NotNull,
Job accomplished! I got what I need and I'm ready to figure out the best procedure to use to go through the unsearchable PDFs to make them searchable. I have the tools I need so it's just matter of figuring it out and freeing the time.
Thanks again.

Re: Locate PDFs That Can't B Searched
NotNull, Thanks! I appreciate your making the effort to create that script. I just gave it a try and it works well. The only issue is that it appears that pdftotext.exe sometimes gets confused when reading a pdf and issues error messages like these: Syntax Warning: May not be a PDF file (continuing ...

Locate PDFs That Can't B Searched
Hi, I have a folder that contains several hundred PDFs. Most of them can be searched for text but a few were scanned before home scanners provided OCR and so those PDFs are not searchable. I'd like to identify the unsearchable PDFs. I tried searching for !content:"e" but after about 4 hrs. I cancele...

Re: Better Message for Bulk Rename Errors
So, can this be considered as a proposed enhancement? Or do you consider it a bug? If I were calling the shots I'd probably call it a bug. Different results on different PCs (which shouldn't happen) and an unhelpful message where a helpful one shouldn't be that hard to produce. Should I re-enter thi...

Re: Better Message for Bulk Rename Errors
That's odd. There's no J: on that machine and in any case I was working on C:. Also Disk 0 is an SSD replacement for the HDD that I installed about a year ago to speed this machine up and there have been no problems. See below.

Re: Better Message for Bulk Rename Errors
Hi, On a different PC than I tested on before (desktop earlier, laptop now, both Win 10) I started with 3 files TT1.pdf, TT2.pdf, and TT3.pdf as shown in first image. I selected TT2.pdf, used F2 to rename it to TT1.pdf, and got the message shown in the second image. This different than what I saw be...

Search Veracrypt Volumes
Hi, I have a Veracrypt volume that I'd like to search. (I know I'd be exposing the file names in the Veracrypt volume, but that's ok because I just need to protect the contents of the files.) Now Everything ignores Veracrypt volumes. Could that be changed so they can be searched like any other mount...

Better Message for Bulk Rename Errors
Hi, When I do a bulk rename and one of the renames fails (e.g. I'm renaming to an existing name or the file is being viewed) the error message says that the rename failed but not why. It would be helpful if the error message indicated the problem as it does when renaming a single file. Thanks, Mike

Use Custom Explorer to View Folders
Hi, I use Xplorer2 instead of the default Windows file explorer because it's so clumsy, feature poor, generally hard to use, and I've sort of come to hate it. My suggestion is to let me specify Xplorer2 as a replacement for the Windows file explorer so when I double click on a folder to view it I ge...
