Re: Crash after renaming folder to same name, different case
It seems to work, because it managed to update my current database file without rebuilding it from scratch (the old version crashed on it). Thanks, void!

Crash after renaming folder to same name, different case
My Everything tends to crash on start every now and often. I am not sure, but healthily suspect it has to do with my habit of changing letter case in names of existing files and folders. I deduce that because with such occasions my debug log ends with a line trying to change that very file's name. I...

Re: Folder renaming causing crashes and database corruption?
This issue seems to be no longer - it hadn't appeared since I upgraded to 886!

Re: Crash after start (_db_corrupt_proc)
I created a similar ticket, seems to be the same issue. From now on I shall continue reporting on this problem in this thread.

Re: Folder renaming causing crashes and database corruption?
Crashed in 1.4.1.877 (x64) - log . This a log after third attempt to start the app. All three were the same - about three seconds of an empty window, status bar says "Updating database...", then a crash. The database was not fixed automatically, so I deleted it by hand and it had to rebuilt. Afterwa...

Re: Folder renaming causing crashes and database corruption?
I indeed have an excluded folder - the Recycle Bin. It is as you suggested in another thread.
I just now downloaded and updated my copy. Will let you know after a few days of testing.

Folder renaming causing crashes and database corruption?
Every few days Everything crashes on me during startup. Examining debug log shows that more often than not there are one or more folder renames happening immediately before crashing, and the database file becomes corrupt and needs deleting afterwards. Is it possible that folder renaming causes datab...

Re: Crash after start (_db_corrupt_proc)
I've just now noticed that this crash, after it happens, sometimes does not generate the CORRUPT line in the log. For example, right now Everything crashes 2 seconds after starting and this log is generated.
Is it the same issue? Does the fix still apply?

Re: ReFS partition index is forced to rebuild every boot
Are you performing a backup to these drives on shutdown or other procedure that may be changing your file systems on shutdown (eg: large windows update)? No. Please try increasing your USN journal size to 65536 KB. Did not help, unfortunately. Nor increasing more, up to 500 MB at one point. Please ...

Re: Memory leak during indexing (Windows 10, dynamic cache, metafile, ReFS)
I must report a great discovery in this topic. Information from this Microsoft support page resolved the memory leak issue for me. The used RAM still increases during reindex, but now it is being freed (in batches, at random moments). They suggested three different keys to add to registry, I added o...

Crash after start (_db_corrupt_proc)
I am tidying up a large partition, moving a lot of things around. Everything was open for an hour without a problem, then it crashed - and it now crashes every time soon after I try to start it again. Here's my debug log. There are some suspicious lines at the end: 2017-09-25 14:31:00.126: CORRUPT 2...

Memory leak during indexing (Windows 10, dynamic cache, metafile, ReFS)
I've a Windows 10 and have encountered a serious problem during indexing my ReFS partition (I don't know if this happens also with NTFS). I spotted a huge increase of memory usage while reindex is in progress. I diagnosed this problem and came to these conclusions: 1. It is not Everything's fault. I...

Re: ReFS partition index is forced to rebuild every boot
I managed to capture this situation in a log file! Sorry it took so long, it wasn't 100% repeatable at boot (maybe some other factors are in play). It happened two times in a row (after boot, then after an hour later). Here are both logs (I will also send them at supplied e-mail): [removed links -vo...

ReFS partition index is forced to rebuild every boot
I have two partitions, one formatted as NTFS, other as ReFS (without using Storage Spaces). When I open Everything, the ReFS index is being rebuilt from start, and because it's 2 TB large, it takes a very long time and undesirable amounts of repeated disk IO. This happens every boot. I had no such p...
