Command line to get a list of all CURRENTLY OPEN searches??

Windows Task Manager in PROCESES tab will show under "Everything" a list of all currently open searches, usually alphabetized. This is VERY useful. 1. Sometimes it is a little buggy. After 1st opening TaskMgr there is a number in paren after the main Everything.exe task, and if you click that line i...

How to combine 2 prior search histories and import to new machine

Had prior main computer sent for warranty repair, contents backed up. Used another in the interim. Both with Everything. Main computer replaced with brand shiny new one (YAY!) Can someone help with the proper Command Window or PowerShell commands to correctly combine the 2 older history .csv files i...

How to list files with extension but no name before "."?

I had a keystroke flub and was going to copy the name of a file I had located (in this case an .mp4) and had copied the characters before the "." and accidentaly hit RETURN so it renamed the file ".mp4" I have no idea the disk it was on or any of its date or size into. Is there any way to have Every...

Re: Way to open multiple "New Search Window"s from a list of search expressions or a .csv file

Still "to do"? Seems like it should be fairly straightforward, but I realize you have a mountain of requests/tasks. But this would surely be one of the most useful & appreciated enhancements. Just a simple "restore last session." Other things like a list of previous-session searches and the ability ...

Re: New work machine w/ Windows 10 blocks Everything without admin access

Ah, thanks. I didn't think of using folder indexing. 1. Does it include only the single folder, or does it recurse to subfolders? 2. Any idea why ir USED to work when my machine was window 7, but denied access once it was upgraded to W10? Does 10 handle these priveledges differently at an OS level?

New work machine w/ Windows 10 blocks Everything without admin access

On previous machine, which was running Windows 7, I was able to just unzip the portable version and run Everything.exe and it was able to index the NTFS volumes without performing a proper install and without inst...

For the "doubtful" item, can it just start Excell and then grab the first selection to the system clipboard from there as its input? I could use Excell to view, sort search & then finally select & COPY the row texts.

THANKS! The script worked! Re: HELP WITH: Instructions for Script to autoload a predefined set of search expressions each in its own window/process

I still had the issue I desccribed:every attempt I made to add anything after the search expression with a space inbetween didn't work, no space, so I guess I am going to get "video:" just stuck up against the search expression from the input file a I did with "type:Video". Oh that's cool, thanks! That does eliminate the messing around with the .csv file in Excell, copying list to to new txt file etc., so GREAT! Re: HELP WITH: Instructions for Script to autoload a predefined set of search expressions each in its own window/process

I tried this to simply add a space and "type:Video" , as well as 10 other varitaions on the syntax. Nothing I do works. The below creates the search windows minimized, but just smashes "type:Video" up against the line from the file so searches for the wrong string. For instance, if the line from the...

Below are instructions to create and run a script to autoload a predefined set (time-ordered in this case) of search expressions each in its own window/process. Re: Sometimes all Search windows DONT show in Task Mgr. PLEASE ADD OPT TO SHOW SELECTABLE LIST OF ALL ACTIVE SEARCHES

"Task Manager" refers to Windows Task Manager. If you start it, and got to Processes tab, and expand Everything, it is a convenient summary of all open Everything windows, showing the search field. It usually works but on random occasions goes cattywompus. Sometimes some random event I can't identif...
