Showing the same result 426.323 times.

Post by wpl69845 »

Everything shows me only one result 426.323 times no mater what I type in the search bar. I don't even understand why this .lnk is the one file showing up, since I am never in this folder or interact with it. Restarting Everything doe not fix this issue, my settigns are unchanged since months: it happend out of nowhere. I guess if I restart my PC this would get fixed, but I would like to know if there is a manual fix for it, because I am on PC for multiple hours and don't restart it often. Any ideas why this happens (like said, same settings, nothing changed)?

Your Everything database might got corrupted somehow.
If that is the case, the following steps should fix it:
  • Completely exit Everything by right-clicking the Everything icon in the systemtray and choosing Exit
  • Delete your Everything database.
Your database, Everything.db, is most likely in %LOCALAPPDATA%\Everything
Enter that path in File Explorer's address bar and delete Everything.db
If Everything.db is not in that folder, it will be in the same folder where your Everything.exe is located.
  • Start Everything again.
Did that fix your issue?
