Why does Everything show tens of recycled "$..." files?

Post by Sepehr »

Windows 10, Everything version: 1.4.1.935 (x64)
Everything shows tens of 1 KB-sized files with different common extensions all starting with '$' in their filenames and are inside "$Recycle.Bin" for every local disk drive. I've emptied the recycle bin, and for example, the directory of "C:\$Recycle.Bin" shows to be empty when I try to open it in Windows Explorer.
The Properties window for each of them says they are 0 B in size, but Everything says 1 KB.
So the question is, why do they appear only in Everything? I can delete them manually inside Everything, but I don't know what happens to them when I do so.
Any explanation would be much appreciated.

Thank you. The second link was very useful and I had success with SE-Explorer.
