Avoiding UAC w/MS Application Compatibility Toolkit 5.5???

Post by dhfan2 »

Hi:

I'm hoping someone can help me with specifics on how to use the Microsoft Application Compatibility Toolkit 5.5 to avoid the UAC prompt that comes up when I run Everything as a Vista "Standard User."

I've tried many seemingly obvious settings with no success. Run as Adminstrator, Run in XP compatibility mode etc.

There are many posts on the internet on how to avoid the UAC prompt with Windows Task Scheduler. For whatever reason, after hours of testing on MS Vista 32 sp2, I can't get this to work except when the interactive user is an administrator, which I prefer not to do. I'm looking to keep my PC as secure as possible.

I believe this can be done, because of this post in the Everything Support forum: Bypassing UAC as "Standard User"

Please help,

Thanks in advance.
