Post by wedoo » Thu Oct 22, 2009 10:12 am

"everything" is awesome,
but i have a little problem:
when i do some search in "everything", it doesn't show some files which have long name
but if i do the same search in "Windows Explorer", it shows the right results

so, how can i solve this problem?

"Everything" uses the UTF-8 character set internally.

"Everything" is limited to 255 bytes per file name, this is fine for the ASCII character set, but some characters (for example Chinese characters) can take up to 3 bytes for each character.

File names that are longer than 255 bytes are not included.

I have started implementing support for unlimited lengthed file names for a future release of "Everything".
