very simple yet useful: Number of found files

Hi all,

First, I love the minimalistic approach, and most of all: the Speed of Everything! Someone just recently recommended it to me, and now I'm really wondering how I could live with ye olde windows search all these years... :)

One thing I'm missing though: How many files did the search find?

Should be very easy to implement, just put it in the window title, in () right behind the query...

(Or is there an option somewhere that I missed?)

The number of results is shown in the status bar (when there is no selection).

To show the status bar:
  • In Everything, from the View menu, check Status bar.
To show the number of results when you have a selection:
  • In Everything, from the Tools menu, click Options.
  • Click the View tab.
  • Check Show the result count with the selection count.
  • Click OK.

Oooh, right - Thanks, now I remember I specifically turned the status bar off, because it kind of gets in the way of the minimalistic look and feel...

Don't you think it would be a nice thing to have, basic information such as this in the window title? (with an option to turn it off...)

I've added to my TODO list: add an option to show the number of results in the window caption.

To customize your Window Caption please see:
/support/everything/customizing/#window_caption

Unfortunately, there's no option for result count yet.

Thanks for the suggestion.
