Re: Everything shows me files that no longer exist

As therube said, there can be more than one directory in the recycle bin. Each directory belongs to a different Userid or a different iteration of a Userid(from various causes). Try this: Delete a file (any file - you can create and delete one for this test). If you look in your recycle bin you shou...

Thank you all for your helpful suggestions. Just to confirm: I understand that Everything does not search for a string within a file but that capability is in the works. Do I have that right? ...wdc No, it is available. Version 1.4.0.713b,see https://www.voidtools.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=5&t=5121

Re: 7-Zip not appearing in Everything context menu

I confirmed this on Windows 7 with the latest 64 bit versions of 7-ZIP and Everything 1.4.0.713b x64. 7-ZIp was set to associate with .zip files and .7z files (the native 7-Zip format) and to use its cascaded context menu option. It is possible that the Windows is running out of memory. Have you tried closing all other programs first? What is the size of your paging file and is there free space on that volume?

Regex Character Escapes Documentation

Hi Void -

The regex documentation does not show any backslash escapes, but it appears that \. and \+ are implemented. Are there others? Are there any plans for more? (\\,\s and \d could be useful).

Re: Everything prevents TrueCrypt from unmounting volumes?

Hmm, I might have VeraCrypt setup incorrectly.

When I mount a VeraCrypt volume I see two volumes.
You might take a look at https://veracrypt.codeplex.com/workitem ... edByLink18

it might be a VeraCrypt bug that is creating the problem.

Type: matches on the Type column, which appears to be the same as the Type column in Windows explorer (set by Windows as a description of the .xxx suffix of a file name). Type: does a partial string match, so app will match "application" and "application extension" (.exe and .dll) where ext matches ...

Read Help>Search Syntax from the Everything menu. Note that a space is not just white space -- it is the AND operator.

Also read Help>Everything Help and select Searching on the left side. There are examples at the bottom.
