How do I exclude shortcut links being listed in the results?
I have tried using *.lnk in Options > Indexes > Exclude but it does not do what I want. It doesn't seem to do anything although other filters in the list work fine.
I am using version 1.4 .

In Everything , type in the following search and press ENTER : /max_threads=1 If successful you should see max_threads=1 in the status bar for a few seconds. I sometimes need to repeat that max threads setting. Can the setting get undone? How can I check the current number of threads Everything uses?

Thanks for the info. Performance (such as time needed for an index rebuild) is not likely to be an issue. Ah, I think I get it now ... When Everything is behind with keeping up what was typed, the idea is to stop whatever Everything was doing when an ENTER was pressd and continue with the entire serach query that was typed. The date syntax on that page permits "/" as a delimiter within the date string but that doesn't work. Nor do date constants work (such as "today"). Does this work for you? I get duplicate entries in the results if I specify a folder in Options and also the same drive in Options.
Is there a way to remove these duplicate results?

I have a very old AMD Duron 1800 processor which has no SSE2 support. I run WinXP. The setting for max threads seems to change. I set it to "1" but some time later I noticed Everything was sluggish again so I reset max threads to "1" and it improved. Does some action on Everything change max threads?

I use Everything on a slow PC and sometimes "Search As You Type" works slowly.
I can go into the User Interface page in Options to disable it but that is tedious to do frequently.

I notice that if a filter and a bookmark have the same name then the bookmark takes precedence.
It would be nice if Everything could detect this clash and warn the user if they try to create an entry whose name has already been used.

In the proposed 3 stage shortcut for seeing the PATH, I wonder if there's a way to have an option for a right-adjusted view of the PATH name.
It's nearly always more important to see the last folders in the path than the first folders.
