Re: Paste&Search button near adress bar.
i like this idea, in fact i've been seriously thinking about suggesting a new feature for Everything that goes in the same vein    See, i've been using Everything everyday for a few weeks while i'm trying to sort and organise my stuff, i mean a huge boatload of files (or is it butt...

Re: App for QNAP nas?
yes it also states 2gb of ram, mine only has 256MB.Point is Qsirch is not an option. What i would like to do is make a centralised database for all my computers to use, i can't create an ETP server without Windows. but if it were an app on the nas then the Server+client (daemon) architecture would w...

Thanks but no-can-do with qsirch, it needs an intel cpu, while mine has an arm cpu.
so i was really hoping someone could make a Qpkg package for side-loading ?

I'll consider an optional toolbar button to do this, thanks for the suggestion. I've also added Ctrl + Shift + V to paste the clipboard contents with punctuation and symbols replaced with spaces for the next version of Everything. ps: where are we with my suggestion of adding the (offline) disk lab...

Twould be twerrific ! ps: where are we with my suggestion of adding the (offline) disk labels in the database ?

Show Drive letters in Filters
hey there
it would be neat to have all the stored drive letters show up in filters, for in case we have a huge amount of files scattered but only want for 1 drive.
cheers

same thing as op , i would like to try this so i've setup all my pcs to use a network path to the Everything database. it's easier than having 2 etp servers (one is up 24/7 but has old usb2 ports. the other is a laptop with usb3 ports so i connect my usb drives to it) So i figure they could all use ...

one thing i've noticed using an ETP server with my tablet is that whenever i do a file function like rename or delete or move, Everything on the tablet (client) doesn't refresh automatically with the new info. i have to manually refresh the display with F5. just wondering if i may have missed a sett...

Re: identify multiple removable disks by its label.
hey there Void, i was thinking, your idea to rescan the files (as mentioned in your post above mine here), it doesn't have to be automatic, but it could be manual, simply by right-clicking the drive in explorer we could add/refresh the drive into the database. Everything could also just ask us if we...

Re: Deleted/renamed files not updated in Results after Refresh
hmm, v1.41.877 seems to not have the sorting problem on start (i may have changed an option in prefs, home, search use last value, that may have something to do with it?).
but still doesn't refresh after file op.

Just adding a bit of missing info from my previous post: i connect to a 64bit Everything server via an etp connection from a 32bit device in the prefs, but not using the service on the 32bit client only on the 64bit server. sorting nort remebered on restart
hi, just reporting a bug
when i start Everything (even 1.4.1.873b) it always starts with the name column chosen to sort.
i've set the option to sort by path and even close everything with that column chosen for sorting but it always starts with name column.

Re: Deleted/renamed files not updated in Results after Refresh
i've noticed that lack of refresh after deleting a file in all versions, x32 and x64 aswell.
but if i right-click everything and manually refresh it works.
it might just be the need to issue the command in code after the delete command is done.

Re: one feature missing: search mapped drives as drive letter
Under Options/Indexes/Folders i put my shared drives, not folders, after all the root of the drive is a folder itself. if you can't see your mapped drives must be because you're starting Everything as administrator. Check to see. That is a Windows feature. Any program started as admin will not see m...

thank you but actually, i meant instead of doing those steps with file list. here's what i mean: Everything scans any drive, you can add a line of code to save the disk label with each file and at a later time when we use Evt to do a search and a resulting hit is on an offline drive, then display th...

Re: identify multiple removable disks by its label.
hey all, new here,
i'm very interested in indexing about a dozen usb/removable drives but i don't know if Everything will do what's in the title ?
ideally, i'd like if the disk labels were displayed instead of the drive letter for usb drives, is that possible?

Re: Run as admin issue + path does not exist
Thx for your reply. Issue#1: I am using the Everything Service Issue#2: The path is a mapped drive, not a UNC path. It's the same mapped drive that works for me on my laptop running Everything. do you perhaps map your shares with a batch file like when windows starts ? if the batch file is not star...
