Thanks for the suggestions and hints, all good. Most of the time leaving the indexes for the remote/network folders works well and does not restrict use. hi wasteland57 I run Everything in my work laptop and i index a local state file server, and also two folders located on out hq servers over a internal lan, they are in other states. Our network is aust wide 10mbit total only for all traffic and i have not had any problems or affect on the networks ...

Thank you for the comprehensive and detailed reply. Very strange but it has not happened since so I am at a loss why the problem occurred in the first place. just similar pain in backside windows.
Is there a manifest file for windows 7 64 bit for everthing.exe yet ?
I think its needed to correctly identify access levels to the OS ?
