I'm here because I tried Exclude to eliminate .lnk shortcuts, and couldn't get it to work.
Reading Help still works

In the search bar:
[ .exe !.lnk ]

To make that option "sticky" in Options, use *.lnk
Tools -> Options -> Exclude
Exclude files:
[*.lnk ]
